OXIDATION STABILITY DRY BATH IP 48
WIL–488 OXIDATION TEST FOR LUBRICATING OIL
As per IP 48 test method.
Oxidation stability is determined by exposing the sample to a measured oxygen flow at elevated temperature in the presence of metal catalysts.
Dry Bath (Oil Less):
Constant temperature aluminum alloy block type dry bath. Double walled construction with external casing made of 304 AISI, stainless steel matt finished. Thermal insulation provided in between the aluminum alloy bath and external stainless steel casing to prevent loss of temperature.
Special construction of aluminum alloy block:
Super engineered and designed having required holes (12) well machined to accept oxidation and absorption tubes, leaving very little air space around the test cylinders. The cylindrical alloy block is carved with an even depth of grooves for placement of air heating elements.
Placement of heating element:
The coiled air heating elements made out of oxidized Nichrome wire are wound around the cylindrical aluminum alloy. The grooves provided for heating coils hold the heating elements tightly helping uniform dissipation and distribution of heat across the holes (12) provided in the cylindrical block.
Temperature controller:
Fully automatic microprocessor based PID temperature controller with two displays for set and process value with feather touch key board and PT-100 sensor incorporated. Digital pre-setting digital timer provided.
Microprocessor based PID temperature controller accurately control the temperature at set values within +0.50C temperature accuracy.
Flow meter:
A bank of 12 flow meters on a stand regulates oxygen flow at 15 Litter / hour to each oil sample as per IP 48 standard. 12 oxidation glass tube supplied.
